Preserving Roadless Areas

An old high school friend of mine, Nelson Guda, just posted the following on his Facebook page.
Yaaayyyy!!!! Huge news - the 10th Circuit Court ruled in favor of the USDA in upholding the 2001 Roadless Rule. The court case brought by Wyoming tried to show that the Forest Service did not follow the NEPA act, and the court ruled that the charge was totally bogus.

Quoting someone else here: "This decision is amongst the most significant conservation victories in several decades."

Why am I happy? Because I spent years working on this issue.
I wanted to highlight not only this wonderful news of the Roadless Rule being upheld, but more importantly, to draw additional attention to these little known and beautiful public lands and the wonderful work Nelson has done in documenting them and championing their preservation.  Check out his site dedicated to his Roadless project.  http://nelsonguda.com/roadless
